These are our silver laced Wyandottes. They were hatched 2-21-09 and shipped to us from Murray McMurray Hatchery. We received them on the morning of 2-23-09. They should all be pullets but we will have to wait and see, young chicks are hard to sex and hatcheries sometimes do make mistakes. I think one of the chicks in the pic is an imposter, I think I accidentally got one of the silver penciled chicks in this lot.
I didn't make a mistake with this group picture, all 5 pictured there are silver laced. I did however miss getting one of the silver laced chicks into the 2 week old picture so she is pictured as the single SL chick.
The silver laced chicks are definitely the friendliest group. Three of them like to climb up my arm to sit on it or my shoulder. The other two will jump up on the edge of the brooder to say hi but they are not bold enough to come up on me yet. The two more shy ones will let me stroke their breasts but the more friendly ones are OK with back stroking as well. |
