These are our silver penciled Wyandottes. They were hatched 2-21-09 and shipped to us from Murray McMurray Hatchery. We received them on the morning of 2-23-09. These we ordered as "straight run" which means that there could be a mix of pullets and cockerels. We are hoping for a silver penciled rooster out of the bunch and at least one silver penciled hen.
One of the chicks in the 5 day old pic is an imposter! The much lighter chick in the pic is actually one of our silver laced girls. That's why there is only five chicks in the 2 week old pic.
The silver penciled chicks are very shy and run to the back of the brooder whenever we open it. We are working to try and get them to become more accustomed to us but they do not seem to want to come around. We will keep trying to make friends! |
